Mission Statement
The Community of Veterans Engaged in Restoration (COVER) is a San Francisco Sheriff’s Department program designed for veterans of all the branches of the United States Military. The COVER program provides veterans regardless of their character of discharge with an opportunity to address their obstacles for positive reintegration into society after serving in the military and its aftermath. COVER provides in-jail/post release case management services utilizing the multi-faceted departments of the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department and its supporting agencies.COVER Service Providers

| San Francisco Vet Center | Weekly visits to assist in VA documents (i.e. DD-214) |
| NoVA Project | Visits those who need housing but do not meet VA criteria |
| Metropolitan Fresh Start | Weekly group facilitation |
| Salvation Army | Housing beds for Veterans |
| Five Keys Charter School | Resource sharing (new program beginning to share computers during and after school) |
| Jail Psychiatric Services | Interns dedicated for counseling purposes |
| Coming Home Project | Provides information on community resources for Veterans |
| I-Rest | Weekly meditation |
| Acupuncture | Volunteer services for weekly acupuncture |
| Swords to Plowshares | Case management, outreach liaison |
